Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I currently study Art Education at The Pennsylvania State University. As a kid I spent hours shooting jump shots on our backyard hoop, throwing rollout passes, making tiptoe catches along street curbs, and taking ground balls on dried-out infields. My mother encouraged art-making and nudged me to think bigger. She advocated for the arts by introducing me to interior design where I flipped through fabric books, paint swatches, and explored showrooms. Sport drives my appreciation for art and conversely art for sport as I see each the same. I am fascinated by languages of expression --- such as Carmelo Anthony's armsleeves and P.J. Tucker's footwear to Peyton Manning's audibles and Brother Ali's intonation's. In college my interests grew towards thinking, writing, creating and personal being. I enjoy working three-dimensionally, manifesting imaginings with my hands. My art practice currently investigates concepts of awareness and inner development. Each art and teaching are alike in my life. Everything I do I believe is necessary in living and growing. A lot of my interests are influenced from my experiences in sports, which regard as spiritual (i know, how can sports be spiritual?). When I talk with a person or make art, how can I feel the same energy as throwing a touchdown pass? For me, life is about expression --- what must I do to find love daily.
