I believe teaching is love. Love does not recede – it leans in further. Love recognizes each moment as opportunity for growth. In the face of perceived obstacles love seeks new approaches. Love acknowledges where it is deficient. Love explores ways to reinforce failings. Love yields what it gives. Love works hard on itself. Like a good teacher love is reflexive, self-analyzing, questioning, and explorative. Love refuses to be complacent. Love strives to give all of itself. Just as love, a teacher’s role is unconditional. it is a teacher’s responsibility to be the best of oneself in order to get the best from ones students.

Every person is teacher and student. Every moment is an opportunity to teach and learn. When alone, it is by choice one teaches oneself and it is by choosing that one learns or unconsciously experiences the effects of a decision. Through conscious choosing, one grows closer to the self by witnessing decisiveness manifest in real life; this awakens an innate trust and respect for life because one sees his or herself as part and of its processes, informing ones perspective in a way of seeing life as happening to or happening for. Life is a complex web of choices. One chooses to make decisions with awareness or without. The former positions itself nearer love because, in this instance, life happens for. Within this paradigm, life opens to the potentials of imagination and creation. Love, an extreme feeling of deep affection, is an inner state that can be achieved by choice (i.e. imagination), this choosing reflects ones responsibility to his or herself by manifesting (i.e. creation) that which one consciously chose to create. As all beings in the world are in constant movement, it is a teacher’s responsibility to act with love as this state welcomes the unknown and the unknown is a teacher’s greatest teacher.

To be a teacher is to be in pursuit of becoming ones self. Through action and reflection one begins to grow. This growth brings forth trust and creates confidence to step further outside of ones comfort zone where the process of action and reflection continues. As one steps away from the self, one becomes even closer, unconsciously trusting in ones abilities without the need to think. With a sense of self, one imparts lessons of love as he or she has the burning desire to share this feeling so that every being he or she comes in contact with can become their best – themselves.
